I’ve tried to search on Google on how I could make my built in Wireless card to work on my Debian 4.0 (etch) installation, however all I found was outdated information. So, I had to find out how to make it work and compile it on my blog for 2009.
Well anyway, here are the details that worked for me.
- On your Linux terminal, type in louie@sally: /> lspci
Look for the line:02:02.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter (rev 04)
- Then download the firmware at http://ipw2100.sf.net/firmware.php
- Uncompress the file and then put it on /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware
- Restart and cross your fingers
Hope this helps. It’s an easy thing to do. Well, if anyone has questions just send me a email or comment on my blog.
